A Conceptual Architecture in Decentralizing Computing, Storage, and Networking Aspect of IoT Infrastructure

Since the inception of Internet Things (IoT), we have adopted centralized architecture for decades. With vastly growing number IoT devices and gateways, this struggles to cope with high demands state-of-the-art services, which require scalable responsive infrastructure. In response, decentralization becomes a considerable interest among adopters. Following similar trajectory, paper introduces an re-work that enables three spheres workflows (i.e., computing, storage, networking) be run in distributed manner. particular, employ blockchain smart contract provide secure computing platform. The storage network maintains saving raw data application data. software-defined networking (SDN) controllers SDN switches exist connectivity across multiple domains. We envision all those services form separate yet integrated peer-to-peer (P2P) overlay networks, actors such as domain owners, users, Service Provider (ISP), government can cultivate. also present several workflow examples showing how developers adapt new proposed architecture. Based on presented workflows, performed trusted privacy-preserving manner, made robust verifiable, finally, react events automatically quickly. Our discussions beneficial many people ranging from academia, industries, investors are interested future general.
